I'm quite settled in but the first few months back home have been hectic. I'm glad that I've finally found the time to write an entry and check out blogs. Anyway, last Sunday, we decided to see what all the hype is with Grace Park.
Many have praised the restaurant's interiors which surprised me. I really don't know much about design but I feel that the industrial look have been around for quite some time. Don't get me wrong, it is interesting, but from some of the write ups I've read, it would seem as if it's the first of its kind.
We went there at around lunch time and the place was packed, cramped and noisy. Our tables actually don't have plates. I desperately wanted to like Grace Park as I normally don't go against what's popular but so far, it's been a let down.
I had the chicken scaloppine (525 PHP), I enjoyed the salad but the chicken was tasteless. I had to scrape my sister's leftover pasta sauce for flavor.
My sister ordered the Truffle Cream Fettuccine (550 PHP) which had a generous serving of truffles which excited me but the pasta was very soggy. I don't mind a slightly undercooked pasta, but an overcooked one, I hate.
Their bestseller, the Muscovado Beef Belly (510 PHP) was quite good but the flavors were too subtle.
We decided to pass on their desserts and get them somewhere else with our disappointing experience.
